Diwali marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness. Deepavali, which is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘an array of lights’, is celebrated all over India with grandeur and splendor. The Diwali date changes every year because it is calculated according to the position of the moon. This year the auspicious day is on Sunday 30th October.
For the past 8 years, Bhavik and Viz have been gathering the Preston community for an annual Diwali celebration. It started with a small group of attendees and has rapidly grown into a popular event. This year’s annual Diwali celebration will be held on Friday 28th October at Baluga bar & Club. This event is an invite-only event and if you are interested attending, please add your name to guestlist here.
